Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and businessman, who has been described as one of America's greatest inventors. He founded General Electric (GE) with John Pierpont Morgan Sr. who was an American financier and banker who dominated corporate finance and industrial consolidation in the United States of America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Edwin J. Houston who was an American businessman, professor, consulting electrical engineer, inventor and author. Charles Albert Coffin who was the cofounder and first President of General Electric corporation and Elihu Thomson who was an English-born American engineer and inventor who was instrumental in the founding of major electrical companies in the United States, the United Kingdom and France.

General Electric (GE) is an American multinational conglomerate incorporated in New York and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. As of 2016, the company operates through the following segments: aviation, current, digital, energy connections, global research, healthcare, lighting, oil and gas, power, renewable energy, transportation, and capital which cater to the needs of financial services, medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceutical, automotive, software development and engineering industries.
